How to install tiles on Wooden floor

Note before starting the process: If you don’t feel the that floor is strong enough, you can always fit extra noggins between the joists, or overboard with a tile backer board such as 6mm or 12mm BAL Board, or 15mm marine grade plywood, screwed down at 300mm centres ensuring screw heads are flush with the surface.
Tools you’ll need
- Tile cutter
- Rubber mallet
- Tile spacers
- Tile trowel
- Duster for cleaning excess grout
- Tile adhesive
- Mixer
- Head pan
Steps to install
- Prepare your surface
For tongue and grooved floor application screw down boards ensuring a minimum of 300mm centres before mixing.
- Mix your adhesive
Mix Weberset pro lite – rapid to your desired consistency.
- Spread your adhesive
Use a suitable floor trowel to spread the tile adhesive.
- Tile your floor
Bed the tiles using rapid twisting/sliding motion to gain good coverage on the back of the tile.
- Mix your grout
Use weberjoint pro to grout the floor. Normal usage requires 1.5 litres of water to 5kg of grout.
- Apply your grout
Use a squeegee or a rubber float to apply the grout.
- Wash off your grout
After waiting for a maximum of 30 minutes use a semi-dry sponge or emulsifying pad to remove the excess grout. Wipe clean with a sponge.
